Interview Atlanta 8/15/2017
2/2/2017 N400 mailed
3/15/2017 Biometrics
7/7/2017 Received interview appointment notice
8/15/2017 Interview: passed.

Anyone know how long it takes for the online status to update. Or, the average wait for the oath ceremony in ATL?

My interview appointment was for 10.15. I went in at 9.45, thru security and checked in at the lobby on the first floor. I was told to go to the second floor where they gave me a number. I was called in one hour later.

My IO came and picked me up from the waiting room, took me into his office, immediately swore me in, asked for my passport/driver's license/ green card and took my biometrics.

After that, he made me read and write a sentence and asked me 6 civics questions which I answered correctly. He wrote down my answers, signed the form and added it to my file.

Next, he asked me questions about my travel abroad and he wanted specifics. "What happened the last time you went thru immigration in ATL and on what date?" He obviously already knew the answers.

Satisfied with my travel answers, he proceeded to go thru every single question/item in my N400 and put big red checkmarks next to each. He asked a few follow-up questions and seemed satisfied with my answers.

After going thru the app, he asked me if I understood the oath, had me sign the form, had me sign 2 passport pictures and had me verify/sign the information that will be shown on my naturalization certificate.

He told me his recommending me, signed/gave me the N-652 and told me I should get oath letter in the mail within 2 to 4 weeks, but it could take up to 60 days. I thanked him and he congratulated me, shook my hand and escorted me back to the waiting area

Overall, my IO was friendly, but methodical and thorough. The entire interview took about 30 minutes. Answer honestly and you'll be just fine!
