naturalization Miami office
Hi everyone! Today was the end of a long journey for me but also today I achieved my dream of being an american citizen. It wasn't easy and it was a long wait but at the end I am part of this great country.
I applied at Miami office on October 19th 2016 / I received my biometric appointment for November 18th 2016 / Then on November 23rd 2016 I was in line for an interview. And after that I experienced a long wait for almost 9 months.I called USCIS phone number I also went through an info pass but each time I was told that Miami office has a lots of cases to work on and my turn should be sometime in the near future / Finally on August 14th 2017 I was scheduled for an interview on September 19th 2017. I was very happy and more than ready for it. But the week before the interview we had an awful guest in the area. It was hurricane Irma.I went through the unpleasant experience of facing the hurricane and staying without power for a week.Fortunately the people from the USCIS Miami managed to put the pieces back together in such a short time so they reopened right the day before my interview. The interview went very smooth. The officer was professional but also nice. I was asked about the House of Representatives ( number members and election terms) about our Chief of Justice and about George Washington as a father of our country. At the end she congratulated me and I was scheduled for Ceremony of oath today. It was very emotional and vibrating and I had the great honor to sing the national anthem as proud american.
At the end I would say to everyone that it might take a little longer that you're expecting but just have patience, learn the history and civics and for sure you will pursue your dream as well. Good luck!
