Newark, NJ Interview Experience
Hey everyone,

Thanks for sharing your experiences. This forum helped a lot.

Marriage based AOS
PD: Last week of November 2016.
Interview notice: 4th week of August 2017
Interview: 9/27/2017 in Newark, NJ

We were called in exactly at our appointment time. Here is my advice, show up at least 30-45 minutes early to be called on your scheduled interview time. They said that we'll need to wait 2 hours but was called within 15 minutes waiting.

The officer looked not so easy going.
Took oath in the beginning.
Asked basic questions. We were smooth into the interview process. We've dated for 4 years and been married for 1 year. All evidence and supporting documents have been already justified when submitting the application.

Some of the questions were:
Your name, Date of Birth, your wife's name, DOB.
When did you first meet your husband? Where? What did you do when dating?
 - My tip is to answer quickly. If you pause, the officer will look at you suspiciously. He gave us the suspicious look when my wife paused to answer one date.
Do you have any supporting documents to prove that your marriage is purely from love?
When showing wedding album, be prepared to answer questions like "who is this? where are your parents? Why is your sister all the way in the back of the family photo?"

Just be prepared for curve balls. It's ridiculous for me to say "Be prepared" because you shouldn't have to worry about absolutely anything. Your marriage should've been purely based on love, and you shouldn't have to worry how to answer questions.

Like most people say on this forum, your interview should be very easy and straight forward if you truly are married. The officer knows who are real couples and who are not. Even I was able to tell that the person that was crying coming out of one of the rooms wasn't a true couple. lol

Approved on spot.
Got Approval, card in production email within 5 minutes leaving the office.

Good luck everyone.

Hope this helps.

The processes are the same throughout the country. The only differences are location and processing timeline. Unfortunately Newark, NJ is very slow, but just be patience.

I won't say "Just believe in God" like a lot of people do on this forum because people who don't believe in God also get approved lol.

And those that are worrying that your case is in pending decision, there is always a reason why that has happened to you.
