H1B Stamping Experience Ottawa
Went to stamping on Oct27th- wed in Ottawa. Was very worried since i had Wednesday appointment whenever i looked online it said office is closed. called in and they said if apt is given then it means you are good for interview.
In Ottawa they don't allow you to go in even 15 mins early, they will let you go in on time or 5 mins early. Any medium/big handbags are not allowed inside either cross handbags should be okay otherwise you will have to leave it outside and go. all together you will have to go to 4 different counters including interviewer counter. first lane will ask you for DS, passport & latest photo. 2nd counter will verify them, 3rd finger printer then comes interviewer line, it will be long be prepared since only two counters. on Wednesday only one counter was opened.In front of me almost 20-25 people where standing, mine was @8:45AM for H1B. Lot of rejections for local people especially for first time visiting i guess they had a clause on how many years they should be in Canada before they can actually get the visa i guess. because lot of ppl were rejected if they are in canada for less than 2yrs.
After seeing rejection was very anxious about mine. Question asked by VO
1. How many years are you working for this employer
2. What is your role with them?
3. Employer letter?
4. Do you have any end client?
5. Client letter?
6. What is your responsibilities?
7. What is Master degree do you?
8. Looks like employer filed your I-40?
Be confident on what you answer VO, make sure carry all the documents and explain it elaborately(2-3 sentences are enough). I have seen few ppl did not even carry the resume which is basic. As along as you are confident and focused it should be good.
One guy was way proactive he was showing unnecessary documents which is not needed example when VO asked him what is your job responsibilities - This guys mentioned his job responsibilities and he said that he brought a house in US(started showing tax documents which was not even asked). Seriously who cares man ppl like these screw up others. even when his visa got approved he was still pulling different documents from file, asking VO do you need these sir, that sir.
