L1B blanket Extension, Canada Ottawa -day 2
Day 2: October 3 2017
I had appointment early morning 7.45am, my sleep wasn't pleasant, I don’t trust alarms :-) got up very early.
Got ready and took my two folders which i have prepared from past few weeks, took tax to embassy its 5 min drive from my Hotel.
1. No phone
2. Wallet is allowed (hand bags with bigger size were not allowed)
Reached embassy 7.30AM and security officer told they are not open yet stand in queue outside the door, I was the second person in the Queue.
at 7.35 I realized I am missing something and its my passport :-(. Reason, I have taken my passport at the airports and it’s kept in my backpack for easy access. All I carried was my two folders which I packed for my VISA interview process. Please ensure you keep your passport back with your other documents.
for minute I was puzzled and started walking opposite direction of the queue, to add to my tension no taxis visible for 100 meters, was slowly running towards Hotel room, after 100 - 150 meters found Tax and asked him to take me to Hotel and then Embassy.
Taxi driver understood and asked me did you forget something Sir, I answered with smile yes sir, its my passport. he said don’t worry sir we have time we can make it, which floor in the hotel is your room. I said 24th:-), this is not good number at this stage.( he took shortcut to help me reaching hotel, it was one way. thanks to him).
reached hotel and elevator to 24th floor ( you understand what happens in peak hours ) almost all floors it was stopping, i kept smile and cool took passport and hoped into Tax, this time luckily all signals look green and reached Embassy by 7.47AM. Huge queue outside for 8AM appointment, directly went to security told its 7.45 appointment. Security check outside door and stepped in.
Lady at the entrance ask for your DS160 confirmation, I797 and photo, gave all three she is okayed me to go through security check and to get to counter 1.
At security, all good except pen, he didn’t allow inside. We don’t need to carry pen, went to counter 1 to pay my fee, she re arranged your documents
1. I 129S 2 sets
2. I797 first page 2 sets
3. Support Letter from your company 2 sets
Paid fee and she pinned receipt and asked me to walk to counter 6/7. Note: Arrange your documents in this order to make life easier.
Went to counter 6, lady at this counter verified documents again and asked for photo, she entered some details and asked me to head to window 4 for finger prints.
Window 4 Lady took finger prints and ask me to stand in queue for interview. There were only two windows and two of them standing before got pink slips ( not sure what category VISA they applied, they were students)
Officer at window 3 called me.
