B1 Visa Approved in 4th attempt..!!
Hi, friends, I am very happy to share my long visa interview(s) experience..! I got approved my B1 visa in my fourth attempt, all within only three weeks..! Actually my story is in last June-July. Sorry for that I didn’t get time so far to share my experience.
I am a PhD student in a reputed university in Delhi. I got an invitation to participate in a 10 days Global Youth Forum in Boston and New York which was held by the United Nations in July 2017.
I appeared my first interview in New Delhi Embassy on 20th of June. The VO was a gentle man, he asked me a few questions, why I am going, what I am doing, how much is my income, who will fund my trip… etc. I answered accordingly, but unfortunately I was rejected.
As the dates of the program were in the very next month, I applied once again in Delhi Embassy. I got appointment within one week i.e. June 26th. (Normally, the available appointment slots will be after 3-4 weeks. But, at some times, especially at night and early morning we can see very nearest available slots.) This time I was interviewed by another male VO. He asked me same questions. But, unfortunately rejected..!!
I was very disappointed. My trip was a full-funded trip, everything was okay, except the visa. My of friends discouraged me. But, I was confused. If I miss that rare opportunity, I will never get such a chance once again. So, I applied once again.
This time I got appointment on 3rd of July at Chennai Consulate. This time I faced a lady VO. She also asked almost same questions. But rejected once again…!! I was very upset. I lost $480 so far. But, the thoughts of my dream journey urged me to apply once again as a last chance, thinking that if I lose this time also I will waste another $160, but, if I get I will get a free U.S. trip… I applied and got appointment on 7th of July.
This time I faced a gentle man VO. He was very kind enough to read all the documents I handed over, which the previous VOs hadn’t done. He read all the documents and asked many questions. He began to type for five minutes... He took 15 minutes to interview me and finally he gave me back all the docs except my passport and he chanted those magic words: “Your visa is approved…!!”
I couldn’t believe..!! I thanked God…!! I wept to tears with joy…!! I got my passport with visa within two days and I flew to Boston on 16th July. Enjoyed the trip and reached back in India on 27th…!!
