Miami Interview
Hi everyone. For a long while i've been a reader of this site and its users and is without a doubt the biggest help any of us might need. So i think everybody MUST cooperate with each other with their experiences through this process

My story:

- met my wife in mid 2012
- moved in together in early 2013
- wife got pregnant in late 2013
- baby was born in mid 2014
- got married in late 2014
- wife became a USC in late 2015
- filed for AOS through marriage in mid 2016

My case:

- 7/25/16: Priority Date - i-130/i-485/i-765
- 8/24/16: Biometrics appoinm.
- 9/7/16: Online Case status "case ready to be schedule for interview"
- 9/27/16: EAD approval 'torch' letter
- 11/15/16: EAD card in mail
- 8/7/17: First service request - case update, no answer
- 9/7/17: Second service request - Answered with interview date
- 10/24/17: Interview Date - 10am

As you can see, it took 1 year and a half just to get an iterview date. After consulting an immigration attorney, she mentioned that they were working on files of October 2016, when my file was from July 2016. So i made a Service Request myself online on August 2017, which they only made an update: "as of Sep. 7/2016, uscis is ready to schedule interview" TO "as Aug. 15/2017, uscis is ready to schedule interview".
So i've decided to call uscis customer service. They said that the update doesnt count as an answer, so they raised the second SR for me and they answered me by email, with an interview date on it. At this point, because of all the impediments and stress being in this situation brings, my marriage was not the happiest. For people wondering how they might do in the process and interview, i should mention what evidence and papers i had when i submitted the file:
-marriage certificate
-baby's birth certificate
-apartment leases
-sponsor taxes
-court disposition letter (due to one arrest :()

Counterpoints i had:
-i wasnt included in my wife's taxes
-we didn't have a joint bank account, wife had hers already and when i had my social i opened my own
-my wife and baby had their health plan, even before i met her. So i didn't mine

- Interview
Arrived at the Miami field office at 9:20 with my wife and my 3yro son. The waiting lobby was FULL of people, and for those anxious for their process, i'm pretty sure this field office might be of the slowest if not THE slowest in the country (Obviously the saturation with cases they is overwhelming) We waited 2 and half hours until we were called in by the officer. Our oficcer in his late 50's, was incredibly serious and not cheery at all.
I took a very very well prepared a binder with every letter and receipt i got from uscis, 60 pictures family pics, birth certificates of us three, utility bills with our names, all leases, employment letter, all my pay stubs, etc. My binder was sooo organized and neat that i was proud of it

-He asked us for our ID's, swore us in, pulled out 2 application- petitioner and and files and started by asking my wife to verificate her info: name, dob, current address, phone number (which she changed, so he corrected that on the file). Then proceeded with me to verify mine. He asked my wife if she was working to which she replied no, because she is studying. The officer congratulated her for doing so, and thats when he started to loosen up saying that he did the same when his were little too. Then he went to the Yes or No questions, the only one i replied "yes" was the arrest. But i had my disposition letter and he asked if any charges were held, which weren't, without making no emphasis on it. And making jokes with the 'have you ever been a prostitute' question. So from there it ended up being a comfortable conversation with him after looking so serious and strict. At the end he told us that he sees no incovenient with our case plus having a baby was a huuuge proof that the marriage is bona fide. He asked us if we had any questions to which I asked "are we approved??" He said that he would recommend us for approval to his supervisor, and he doesn't think they'll hesitate to approve it for the strong evidence. And also said that If he would submit the approval himself, all the people that were waiting outside would wait even longer. And to expect an answer in 1 or 2 weeks. He didn't asked for anything else, didn't asked me to see pictures, didn't even take a look at my beautiful organized and neat binder. The whole interview took aproximately 15 to minutesSo no approval on spot, no approval sheet, and no stamp on anything.

That was it, for now i have to wait. I'll keep everone posted on what happens next.
