Pending decision after AOS interview with pending asylum
Hello everyone,
My husband and I have a peculiar case. I am a US citizen married my husband on November 28, 2016, filed in February 2017, AOS interview done on May 24th. My husband and I dated for 3 years before getting married. My husband has a pending asylum case (no interview yet regarding asylum). We were separated during interview but our answers matched and everything went well. Since he has a pending asylum we were told we have to wait for USCIS to request his asylum file and review it. 5 months have passed, still no decision. We made 3 service requests and 2 through congressman. The ones through congressman said they are still waiting for the asylum file. The other service requests are just standard answer( waiting adjucation...bla bla). My questions are :
Is there anyone here with similar case?and how long it took to get an answer?
I graduated college 5 months ago, can’t find a job in my city so we would like to move to a bigger city in another state. Can we move after interview? Will we have to transfer our case somewhere else? We don’t want to because that will complicate matters and delay a decision even more.
Few other details: my husband entered legally through tourist visa, then extended his visa. Later applied for TPS. He had TPS since 2012. Applied for asylum in 2016 after things in Syria got really bad. He is Christian and I am Muslim. We worked together , fell in love and started datingin 2013. our one year anniversary will be November 28th . Difference of age is 10 years. Anything in what I described could impact decision in your opinion ?
