Parents' B2 visa refused while my I-485 is pending
Hello All,

This forum is really helpful for me for both my I-485 applications and recent parents' B2 visa application. I am going to share our experience, and will appreciate any suggestions on the scenario:

I have applied for I-485 (Green Card) through my spouse who is a US citizen. Though the application is pending, we wanted to invite my parents looking at other examples like me in different forums. Here are the questions they asked my father (retired college teacher, 60+), and my mother (house-wife, 50+) who applied being self-sponsored:

VO: Why do you want to go to US?
Father: To visit my son and daughter-in-law.
VO: What does your son do?
Father: (told my job)
VO: In which institution?
Father: (told my institution)
VO: Can you give me your son's documents?
Father: (Gave my EAD, Passport, Previous Visa etc.)
VO: What do you do?
Father: I am a retired government college teacher and worked in XYZ college.
VO: How much you earn every month now?
Father: (told his income).
VO: Based on the documents we are not satisfied. Your visa is rejected.
Father: Here is our daughter-in-law's document as well, do you want to check it.
VO: No need! Thank you.

Now, we are going to apply again. But before that can you please suggest any change that we should do? We had property documents, bank statements etc but they didn't want to check at all. It looked like VO was stuck looking at my EAD for a while. But me being a pending green-card applicant, does it put any red flag on my parent's application? Any insight will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!
