H1/H4 Stamping in Vancouver
Hi All,

I read lots of experiences in this forum and found very helpful. Its time to give back and share my experience.

I had my H1 and my wife's H4 visa appointment scheduled on 11/21 at Vancouver Canada. Our appointment was at 7:15 am. We reached consulate at 7 am. There was already queue forming in front of the entrance of the consulate.
They checked our DS160 confirmation with passport and asked to show one passport size photograph.
We were asked to go up the stairs on the second floor where the security check was done. After the security check, there was a queue to get the Photograph scanned and other information verified. Then we were asked to provide the fingerprints. After finishing all this, the guard takes you to 20th floor where the interviews were being conducted.

We had to wait for 4 people in front of us to finish their interviews before it was our turn.

Questions :
For me-
Where do you work ?
is this your renewal ? Is it with the same company as before ?
What is your highest level of education ?
is this your first time in Vancouver ?

For my spouse-
What is your highest level of education ?

The officer was very friendly and made us very comfortable during the interview. He told us our visa is approved and we might receive our passports back next Monday (11/27) because its holiday on Thu (11/23) for US consulate due to Thanksgiving. We were out of consulate around 8:15am.

Status changed to 'Administrative processing' after the appointment. It remained the same on 11/21.
Next morning of 11/22, we received an email from Canada post that they received the shipment information. In the afternoon, the status was changed to 'Shipment picked up'.
On 11/23, we received confirmation, that our passports were delivered to Canada post of our choice. We picked up the passports by showing a Government issued ID. So it took in total of 3 days for the whole process from Interview to picking the passport.

Few tips which might be useful :
1. Do not bring electronic car keys to the consulate (at least in Vancouver, they don't allow). Its better to take cab/public transport from the hotel. Also, do not bring any phones or other electronics.
2. Dress nicely and be confident during the interview.

I hope this helps people with the visa interview process. I can answer questions best to my knowledge.
