Interview date: June 27/2017

Interview day: Interview at 26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY
Horrible Experience!
Background: Applied under 3 years marriage. We already are 6 years married and we have a 3 years old. Wife is a native New Yorker, and a renown Doctor. I live in the US for 20 years, came to the US for my undergrad and stay for my M.A and PHD, 3 degrees from Ivy Leagues. Very solid careers, clean records, good tax returners, solely owners of our two homes, in NYC and holidays home in the Long Island Sound. Our intention never was that I Naturalize but it just happen. The officer was very rude since the start of the interview. It seemed that she was making an effort to not like me. She question every single detail from my application. I pass the English and Civics test (was very easy) after the tests she explain me that i have to show now that I am still married to my wife, well i got with me all the documents required to show that. She wanted original copies, not photocopies and told me that I will have to send them later...Show her tax transcripts, insurance, birth certificate of toddler, deed of our home: We even bought a coop in NYC that the certificate is under both names as a married couple, she was extremely rude and told me that I probably was rich and just was buying a home for the woman that have my child so she doesn't bother me. During the rest of the interview I got many ironic responses like the one above from the officer.Just horrendous experience. She even comment that probably its easier to be admitted at the Universities I went than turning into a U.S Citizen.
At the end the officer printed a N14 requiring more evidence. Left Federal Plaza with a bad taste...

N14 sent: July/2017 - Huge Package with more than 1000 pages with ALL our information and assets of last 5 years. Also included pictures and travels of the last 5 years till the date.

After 120 days from the interview I did not know what to do... If i should hire a law firm to handle my case and sue USCIS or just keep waiting. After doing some research I found that at this stage of my N400 I should contact Senators and Representative. Well I wrote them... and they where very efficient, answering me on time and I think that they kind of push my case...

October 23/2017: Wrote to senator exposing my case and experience
October 24/2017: Senators office wrote me and call me back saying that my case was approved and in Queue for Oath Ceremony

Since October 24th/2017 Still waiting for a date for my Oath Ceremony... I guess at this point I should just enjoy Holidays Season :-) forget about this experience and just hope that early next year I get a date for my Oath Ceremony.

Please If anyone is waiting for their Oath Ceremonies and did their interview at Federal Plaza in NYC, let me know how their cases are developing and how much time they wait for the Oath Ceremony to be scheduled!

Thanks!
