Adjustment of Status - I-485

Hi all,
I've been a quiet reader of this forum, and would like to share some new info i learnt today... I have a green card application through my USC spouse. we had our interview in August 2017 at NYC Federal Plaza and have been waiting since then. Interview went well, no additional document request, and was told this should be approved much sooner than 120 days. it has been more than 120 days and no result. I went to USCIS today with an info pass, and the person at the counter looked up my case and was very confused, as he said he couldn't see my case being assigned to any officer, and is still awaiting decision. he then explained to me that in late September / early october, the NYC office had a reorganization and some cases were re-assigned as a result of the reorg. As such, my case was unfortunately "abandoned" in the process and is currently waiting for any officer to pick up in their spare time. I asked if I could request my case be picked up, and the officer told me that they are not accepting any "expedited" requests impacted by this reorganization until February 2018. This is absolutely frustrating and unfortunate, but I did find his explanation somewhat reasonable. I know this isn't a positive development, but i hope this update offers some readers in the similar situation some more insights. Happy holidays all and wish the wait will end soon!
