221g at Ottawa Consulate
Hi,

I had my H1B visa interview on Dec 5th 17 at Ottawa Consulate. I was given a 221g letter at the end of the visa interview and told that Consulate will contact you for anything. I was not asked for any additional document to submit and just said we will review more the application.
Now my questions are:-

1) How much time usually it takes for consulate to contact when no new document is requested. Anybody has any experience or idea?
2) How can I know which slip was given to me at Consulate? The 221g which I have is just a white color paper with “Embassy of United States of America” in Blue color letters written over dark grey background line. What does this color represent? Does anybody know?
3) Where can I track the status of my application? Usually how the candidate knows when any decision is made on the application? They receive an email from consulate or they track it online?
4) Usually what is the Status people see when they track their application status under 221g section and before not receiving any email from Consulate?

Thank you.
