Green Card received 4 months after interview
Today I got my green card and I am so happy and excited. It took USCIS 4 months to acknowledge that I was approved the same day of my interview ( yes the green card has the date of my interview on it). This is my story:
On august 29 I had my interview at Federal Plaza in New York, the IO approved me on spot, he gave 3 letters confirming the approval and stamped my file all over with the word approved, he also left copies of the letters he gave me with the file. On September 29 I did an infopass to inquire about the green card, the lady that was helping me told me that I was approved but the system was not updated, she stamped my passport though with the I-551 stamp. After that the nightmare started, they started saying that I wasn’t approved, that my case was pending, they even sent me that letter they give to some people that the case was under review and to wait 120 days for a decision, I did a second infopass and the lady was so nasty to me, she didn’t want to help at all. So I did a service request and my lawyer went personally to Federal Plaza to try to solve the misunderstanding and Bingo, I think both the service request and the inquiry from my lawyer made them take a look at my file and realized they had made a mistake.
So today the card was sent to my lawyer and as I said before it has the date of my interview on it.
Good luck to everybody here and keep pushing them, sometimes they are just too lazy and don’t want to do their job.

By the way my status online was never updated, it still says interview is schedule.....
