H1B drop box- chennai. Passport delivery initiated in 6 days
I did drop box in chennai on 8th of Dec. H1B + H4 extension stamping.
My visa status timelines
Dec 8 : Dropped passport and docs in chennai
Dec 11: Case created
Dec 12: changed to AP
Still my visa status hasn't changed from AP. But my passport tracking says "Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery". I also logged into my cgi federal profile and saw similar updates. Besides, I got Bluedart notification with the tracking number to the registered phone number. Looks like bluedart received the package on 20th (6 pm) and is scheduled to be delivered by 23rd in Trichy.
I was checking only my visa status from time to time and hadn't checked my passport status only. Would advice folks to check both from time to time.
So, as far as timeline goes, on 12th of dec, status changed to AP and by 20th evening, passport was received by bluedart for delivery which makes it 6 business days.
