H1B, H4 Visa

Hi All,

I had my previous H1b stamping at Hyderabad which was successful without any hassle. This time I was eligible for Drop box. I currently completed 3 years of h1 b (last October) and entered into 4thyear. My previous h1 and current h1 extension are both with the same client. I fall into Employer - Vendor - client (EVC) model. I had my Drop box scheduled on Dec 11th. I dropped of 2 photographs, my old & new passports, recent I797 ( which is H1 B extension), previous i797, and Drop box confirmation letter. On Dec 18th, I got an email from consulate to appear for biometrics and face to face interview with all the supporting documents. My interview was scheduled on Jan 3rd at 10:00am. So on Jan3rd, I went to the Embassy with all the documents and appointment confirmation letter. When I entered the embassy, I was asked to stand in a separate line for the fingerprints. Then I was asked to wait in the line for the interview. I was given the token for counter 11. The VO was a lady officer ( may be she is in her late 40’s). Here’ s how my interview went.

1. Good Morning Ma’am, how are you doing.
Ans: I am doing good. How are you doing ma’am.

2. So you work for “ YYYY ” company.
Ans: That’s correct.

3. Which state do you live?
Ans: I answered city and state, instead of just state.

4. What is your current salary?
Ans:” xxxxx” per year.

5. is your e,player planning to file green card for you?
Ans. Yes, but technically he didn’t. He is about to once I return.

6. What’s your highest degree.
Ans: Masters

**** * she was typing something on the screen, She then tried to get the white slip and writing some case number on the slip and there was nothing checked on the slip. She did not ask for any documents during the interview.

7. In which course of study did you finish masters?
Ans: I said, “xxxxx”.

As far as I remember, here are her words” your application may require some additional processing. Do follow the instructions on this slip (white slip) nd track your status with your case number or Ds 160 number. Have a good day!”.
I had lot of anxiety for the interview, but I thoroughly remember that she did not say that your application is approved or you got your visa. I was not asked for a single documents . Not i797, nor client / vendor letters .Nothing.

I am really worried with the current situation. I did inform my employer, vendor and client about my situation and to respond to any emails or calls, if at all for any verification from US embassy. Not sure how much time it is going to take for processing.My current status on tracking is showin as AP with Jan 3rd date.
