Hartford, CT update
Hi all,
I'm glad to announce that my naturalization process has finally come to a happy ending. Here's my timeline and experience at the interview:

Hartford, CT

May 13/2017... PD
May 31/2017... FP
June 12/2017... IN LINE FOR INTERVIEW

Wait... Wait... Wait...

November 29/2017... INTERVIEW HAS BEEN SCHEDULED.
January 8/2018... INTERVIEW DATE
January 18/2018... OATH CEREMONY

Officer was extremely nice, friendly, funny, he even joked a couple of times. He was an older gentleman with a speech disability that required a sign language interpreter and the presence of a third officer in the room. This sounds nerve-wracking but I think it made me feel very confident.

Questions:

1. What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?
2. Who was the first president?
3. Name 2 national holidays.
4. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?
5. Where is the statue of liberty located?*
6. Who is the governor of your state?

*I answered "New York City" and the officer asked "where in NYC?" And then I replied "New York Harbor" and all was good.

He asked me to read "Who lives in the White House?" And then he asked me to9 write the answer.

He went through the rest of my application. Single, no kids, never married, no arrests, paid all my taxes. Make sure your driver's license has your current RESIDENCE address, thank God I went to the DMV recently and did that! He didn't ask to see my taxes at all, he asked to see my passports but didn't check them thoroughly.

He told me "congratulations! I'm going to recommend you for approval". He gave my application to another officer for him to check and told me to sit in the waiting room for the front desk person to tell me when my oath ceremony will be!
I waited about 15 minutes and they called my name and offered 2 dates, Jan 18 or Feb 6. I picked Jan 18 and they gave me my appointment letter right away plus a package with information to apply for my very first American passport and its application form which can be submitted the day of the ceremony!

This forum was awesome and helpful. I wish you ALL a speedy process and a positive outcome. Good day!
