Denied 4 times then Approved
Hello Everyone, this is my B1/B2 Visitor Visa interview experience at the US Embassy in Trinidad & Tobago. My interview was in November, 2017 but now got the time to post this. This forum helped me alot in preparing for the interview, Thanks to everyone that posted there experience.

I am a single male 27 yrs old, Supervisor at a company.

2011 -at 21 years old while going to School I applied for a visitor visa and got denied 214b.
2013 -I reapplied, this time I had a job and 2 years work experience, I was denied 214b again.

July 2016- 26 Years old- New Job- 3 years experience at a Company as a Supervisor I applied again, working for a fairly good salary, Travel History to Canada (Canada gave me 10 Years Multiple Entry Visa in 2016) . I was denied 214b again.

September 2016- I decided to reapply again because I really wanted to go on vacation with my family. I got denied again 214b.

After 4 Denials and missed family vacations/weddings in the US it was very depressing because I didn't understand why I was denied so many times for no reason that I knew of.

November 2017- I decided to try for the Visa again as my cousins was going to New York for vacation and I really wanted to go spend time with my cousins that live in New York for Christmas.

I was VERY Nervous although I prepared for over a week in front my mirror doing interviews with myself. This is how the interview went.

VO: with a smile-Good Morning, How are you? (She was the same officer that denied me in 2016)
Me: I'm fine thank you and yourself?
VO: I'm great thank you. Lets start by taking your finger prints which she instructed me on how to.
Me: ok.
VO: What’s the purpose of your trip?
Me: To go on vacation with my cousins.
VO: At this point she saw on her system that she denied me in 2016 and said We have spoken before, I can't do the interview but have a seat and I will have another officer call you to do the interview.

While sitting and waiting I was even more nervous now as I really didn't know what to expect, I was just praying for it to be over regardless of the outcome. 10 mins later my name was called.

(Male Visa Officer this time)

VO:Good Morning
Me: Good Morning.
VO: I see you was denied recently (2016) what have changed from then till now?
Me: I am working longer at my job and have more savings in my account.
VO: Whats the purpose of your trip?
Me: Vacation with my cousins.
VO: Where do work and your salary?
Me: I responded.
VO: Let me see your bank statement, then asked Do you have family living in the US?
Me: Yes my cousins.
VO: Okay how did they become citizens?
Me: I responded.
VO: What date do you plan to visit and for how long?
Me: I responded. (only 1 week I applied for)
VO: Typing for about 30 seconds.
Me: Standing firm infront the interview window and just looking at him because I wanted to be confident as possible although I was cold sweating just waiting for him to respond. It felt like 1 hour lol. Then the golden words came.
VO: Your Visa has been approved, you would get it in 5-10 business days via DHL Courier and gave me a small white paper with courier collection instructions. Have fun on your trip.
Me: Thank you

I couldn't believe it, I didn't know if to cry or laugh because I got denied 4 times in the past. I am still overjoyed.

The courier delivered my passport 8 days after my interview and to my surprise I got 10 years Multiple Entry B1/B2 Visa. I went to New York for Christmas on vacation and had lots of fun. My advice- be confident, calm and honest during the interview. Answer briefly and only what you are asked. There's still hope, don't give up. BEST OF LUCK to everyone.
