EAD Experience c9
Hi all,

I have been an avid reader of this forum, and I wanted to share my experience below, maybe it can help.

- PD: 10/26/2017 - sent in I-485, I-130, I-131, I-765 for Adjustment of Status
- Bio: 11/28/2017
- RFIE: 11/30/2017 - needed more proof of citizenship
- RFIE responded: 12/20/2017
- Called T1 officer: 12/26/2017 - 45 days had passed since PD, and case number did not work online/via customer service. T1 officer told me that it was because of backlog and not to worry.
- 1st SR: 01/08/2018 - Raised SR because case number did not work. Got transferred to T2 officer that told me that case number would work when the case had been approved, and that my case officer had not made a decision yet. She also told me there was a 6 month backlog and to wait patiently. Not very helpful.
- I-485 Update: 01/09/2018 - status changed from not working to "Ready to Schedule Interview"
- I-765 Update: 01/18/2018 - status changed from not working to "New Card Being Produced"
- I-765 Update: 01/22/2018 - status changed from "New Card Being Produced" to "Card has been mailed to me". Also received in mail notice of approval for EAD/AP combo card
- Card in lawyer's hands: 01/24/2018!!!
- Total wait time: 91 days including card delivery

Things that might/might not have helped: Ecuadorian citizen, applied for Adjustment status via marriage to USC (category c9), from Idaho, with lawyers, previous F1 student on STEM OPT.

Things that I recommend: From my personal experience, I recommend to use these two apps: Case Tracker and Informed. Case Tracker is an app that lets you track your various cases, as well any other that you have the case number for (a lot of people have recommended it on this forum as well). Informed App is an app from USPS that scans the mail you're supposed to receive that day and send you pictures of it, so you can keep track of your USCIS letters that way. Also, you can ask for a tracking number for your EAD/GC from USCIS the moment that your card is mailed to you.

To USCIS husbands and wives: SUPPORT YOUR SO!! Be their source of strength, be patient and loving, and overall be understanding. If this whole process is frustrating for you, imagine how debilitating and horrible it is for us. Be the positive ray of sunshine we need during these darkest times.

To everyone else waiting,I am with you, I understand what all of you are going thru and how hard it is. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I would not wish this on my worst enemy. But remember that the waiting period WILL END, and that you will THRIVE! We are STRONG and we aint going anywhere!!! Dont let the system beat you down, we are BETTER!! Good luck to everyone out there!!!!
