We arrived about 10 mins before our appointment, but there was a long line for security check. Went through security and were officially late for the appointment. The receptionist took a look at our interview notice and asked to be seated until called.
We waited for about 1 hour and were starting to get worried...but were eventually called.
Before I go into details, let me tell you something. You are not going to a concert, dress appropriately. We wore suits. Be well prepared and organized with your documents so you dont have to spent minutes looking for an item IO asks for. Just dont waste their time and you will be fine.
So details, IO told us both that interview is divided in 2 parts. One for my wife and one for me, got me a little worried as if we are being seperated right away.. But it was just targeted questions like verification of address etc.
We were asked each other's Birthday and marriage date, if we had a marriage with someone else earlier or a kid from previous marriage. We said no but we just had a son about 1 month ago. He got super excited and asked for a birth cert, we gave him that and he told us 90% cases are closed right here. Asked for more evidence just in case, we have insurance, bills, house expenses etc and he said that's enough.
He said my file looked awesome except for the expired medical, while he was speaking we pulled out the sealed new medical and he was happy again. He was pleased that we were prepared and said we are approved.
He said after he sees us out he will approve in the database in 30 mins. I haven't yet received a notice/ email or text of change in online status but am hopeful.
