Oakland Park FL Interview PD NOV 18 2016
Hey guys this is my experience with the Interview process for marriage base green card

PD NOV 18 2016
Ready for interview JAN 25 2017
Interview Notice DEC 20 2017
Interview JAN 29 2018

interview was schedule for 10:10 AM

so we arrived at the office around 9:20 AM, pass thru security.
and about 9:30 we were already waiting to be called by an official.

around 10:20 AM we got called by the IO, he was a really nice guy
the whole interview was in spanish (my wife is latina From DR) so she was pleased. but she was prepared for an english interview as well.
the IO was from el Salvador

once we got sworn in he ask for original paperwork (we had already submitted with orignial) ,so we mention it and he look thru the file and found them.
so he started asking questions, where we met , how long have we been married, where was the reception, why dont we have children yet, how i propose, to show him any supporting doc we took to the interview, he continue asking questions but dont rememeber the detail

we took
copy of cards of health insurance*
beneficiary of 401k*
beneficiary of Life insurance*
bank statement that we both share an account*
Cellphone bill
Lease*
14 years worth of pic (about 100 or so) (he keept 6 of them)
weddings pics(album)
passports
evidence of trips done together

Note: all the * he keep to support the case

he went thru our pictures/albums and was picking a few out for the file.

he talk about the penalties if it was fraud and made us sing an acknowledgment form or something like that.

he ask about our future plans. and then started with the yes or no question to my wife.

after that he congratulated us, and told us he was approving our case. and since we have been married more than 2 years (4 in our case) she will be receiving the 10 year valid green card. in about 2 weeks.

he also needed a copy of my passport, so we went and do that, and he escorted us to the exit.
the interview took about 30-40 min ( seem to be less)

it was about 11:10 when we got outside the building and heading home.

Oakland park seems to be very slow on processing and scheduling the interview, so don't loose your calm. just hang in there.

be organize with the docs you take. and don't be nervous, if you got nothing to hide you will be fine.

hope everyone get done with your process quickly.

whole process took from
NOV 18 2016
JAN 29 2018
little over 14 months

now to wait on the Green Card
have a nice day. will share another exp once we get the Green card home.

thanks.
