New Jersey filer
Marriage Base ( wife USC)
Field office: Newark
PD: 03/14/2017
EAD :05/29/2017
Interview Notice :12/27/2017
Interview date: 1/30/2018

IO administered the oath and collect our IDs and my passport.

Asked for my wife’s name ,DOB, address, same question directed to my wife.

IO asked for my wife’ parents name and where they live , she directed same to my wife.

Requested for our birth certificates , marriage certificates and any joint documents . We provided joint bank statements (checking and savings) ,car insurance , life insurance , correspondence in both our names and over 100 photos.

IO selected about 20 pictures by checking for the dates on the back of the photos and asked us to describe the events.

IO then proceeded to the YES/NO questions…

At this stage , I thought we were done not until IO told us we would need to be separated and asked me to go stay at the waiting room ..few minutes later IO came to get me and asked my wife to leave. Then proceeded to ask me the following questions

IO: how did you meet your wife?
How did you propose and when ?
      Who bought the rings?
How much is our rent ?
What did we do this morning?
What time did we leave the house for this interview?

Apparently these are questions she asked my wife earlier. IO then called my wife in , told us all my answers matched perfectly with the answers my wife gave ,almost answering all the questions using the same words.

IO gave us a “HELD FOR REVIEW” letter and said we should expect the card in 2-3 weeks time because she may approve us today once she check that the background check is complete.

I asked if it would be updated online and IO wasn’t too sure about that but said by and large we should get the card in the mail within that time frame that we are good to go.

Looking at what transpired today, it looks difficult but trust me it was all fun while in there answering those questions as IO was giggling even when trying to be stern but she couldn’t help it.

Now waiting for the card in the mail soon…
