Pd: May 1st, 2017
Ead received on August 2017
Interview was scheduled on Jan 31st 2018, Holtsville Long Island
Me and my husband we prayed for everything to go as smoothly as possible I was a little nervous but I had no reason to be because our marriage is real and God is in control. We got there an hour early and ended up waiting close to two hours to get called. Went in and we swear to tell the truth and she asked us how we met? And after that we just started chatting. She then asked me for my passport my husband job letter and if we plan to have kids I said yes, my husband was like he wants to wait a little longer at least after I graduate college. She agreed with my husband and said you should listen to him and wait enjoy your time before having kids y’all still really young. She the said I’m going to approve you in 1 year and 9 months apply for your 10 year card and in 2 years and 9 months you can then Apply for your citizenship. Then the rest of the conversation was her talking to my husband about his career. It was a pleasant experience for us and I felt the presence of God in the room with us. We prayed and he delivered. She then said you will receive your card in 10-14 days check status this morning New card is being produced. GOD IS ABLE
Documents we brought:
Joint bank account (checking, savings, credit cards)
Lease and receipts for each payment
Joint car, life, insurance
Album with 200 pictures

And my old visa when I entered the country.
She only took our bank statements and lease plus two pictures came back home with everything else.
What I’ve learned in this process
- as long as your marriage is in good faith there’s absolutely nothing to worry about
- you don’t need a lawyer if your case is straight forward( we hired one the officer even asked us why couldn’t we do everything ourselves)
- for the interview don’t get stressed they just want to see you physically therefore make a good first impression my husband and I we both wore suits)
- look the officer in the eye and answer all questions truthfully
Last but not least be patient and Pray Pray Pray.
Any questions don’t hesitate to ask. And good luck to everybody that’s still going trough the process.
