I have been a silent but grateful reader of this forum. I saw it only fit that I should at least share my experience with you at least it will calm someone’s nerves and be of help in some way or another. Want to start out by saying if your marriage is bonafide , there is nothing you should worry about . God is good and he works in ways we will never understand.
The day of the interview, we arrived 45 mins early. We were one of the first to arrive. We sat and waited patiently. We saw so many people who came after us be called before us. We saw many couples have legal representation but we did not. We filled out our paperwork by ourselves. We were called about 9.20 am. When we entered my husband asked why we were called so late, she informed us that the IO who had our case was not at work today. Anyways we were sworn in and sat down. We brought our baby who is barely two years old. The IO was a pleasant young lady, the interview was more like a chat. We were both relaxed. We had our new medical and a folder with the documents that we were asked however, my husband made copies of the documents that we needed but HE FORGET THE ORIGINALS. So she joked about no need for the folder because we had no originals. She then she informed us that it can take 120 day without the originals to get approved, but as always God is good. She realized that my hussy is very forgetful and joked about it, she is right.
Anyways she asked me his birthday, his kids' names and the schools they attend. She took my I94 and stapled it. We saw our file was quite big, we came to the conclusion that they have your original file if you became a naturalized citizen and even when I entered what I have done for the years here. There is no way you can lie because everything is in front of them, they are just verifying your answers. She asked my hussy my father’s name, where we met and the last question was what was my telephone number. My husband only knew the first 3, she joked about it. She could see that the relationship and marriage is genuine. She gave us a piece of paper with the original documents she needed and to have it back to her that same day. She also put her name on the paper and gave instructions to call her when we got to the window.
She spoke about the conditional green cards and changing the social security, and driver’s license. This was it. Asked if we had any questions, we said no. Our conversation lasted for like 30-45 mins. I returned that same day she brought the file double check the documents and then she sad you will receive your GC in about 2-3 weeks. At about midnight I received and email and text indicating that the card is in production
My advice to you be prepared , make sure you have original documents. BE PATIENT
