EAD (WorkPermit)

Hi All,

First of all thank you all in this forum. In the days of darkness this forum kept me alive and afloat.

Me and my husband filled our concurent applications on 6 Oct 2017 in Nabraska center. It was received on 11 Oct 2017.

Sr - Jan 2- Generic response(your application is in line to be reviews..blah..blah)

Sr - Jan 11 - Generic response(your application is in line to be reviews..blah..blah)

Kept waiting nothing happened

Expedite request raised - Jan 22 - Denied with response(it can only be approved in case of true emergency)

Called USCIS customer care many times to talk to L2 officer. But never got any real update on progress of application

Conatcted Congressman - Feb 4
Out of sheer frustration just dropped an email to congressman. I didn't expect anything will turn

Feb 6- Called up the congressman office just to check if they received my email. I was given direct no of immegration unit handling such request. First attempt to talk was unsuccessful. But the representative called me himself. He heard patiently about my case. I requested for expedite request

Feb8- Send over 60 pages of supporting documents(bills, financial libilities) through represntative.

Got no news after that except for email that the congressional unit in NSC received our request

Feb 13 - Called up senator office but was told not to raise another request as we have already contacted congressman

At this point I was fully lost and clueless what I should do further

But suddenly in afternoon got emails that mine and husbands EAD card was sent for production.

In our case I feel congressional inquiry helped a lot. I am really thankful to the person who handled our request.

My suggestion to all, keep following up with each unit. There is chance you will not get response immediately but as applicant we have to use all avenues.

I pray to god that my people here get their EADs soon and no one should go through the frustration I went through.

Now the wait for EAD in my hands begin.
