Aug filers, I got RFE last Friday. I cannot tell if it's good news or bad.
Filed I130, I485, I131, I765 at same time. Received date 08/16/17. NBC.
Called customer services many times. Raised two service requests, 2 expedite requests. Contacted Congressman and Ombudsman. I tried everything I can.
After 6 months on Feb 16 my I485 case changed from "case received" to "request for initial evidence was mailed".
It turns out that they need more evidence about my husband, the petitioner's financial condition. But we met the criteria listed on the website when we submitted the application.
My lawyer heard it's not even the officer who requested for further evidence. USCIS hired some contractors to do this. Their job is to find the weakness of your case and give you a hard time. So it's like if you don't have enough money, you can't get your EAD and you don't get to work, and maybe your marriage fails because of this, and finally you will get the hell out of America. I guess that's what they think.
We are gathering the evidences of our assets. Hopefully I can get my EAD soon.
