hi Guys ,
Adding my exp : a) 14th Nov ead renewal application received VSC
b) 26th jan - raised SR , processed on 4th feb assigned and then completed on the same day. no response nothing on any sort of mail
c) 6th feb - called service rep, she said completed means it is assigned. response sent to some unknown email address. Since i was losing job next day , asked the case to be expedited . Lost my job on 7th
d) 9th feb - expedited request assigned and completed
e) 15th feb received mail - expedited request denied
f) 22nd feb raised 3rd SR,
g) received approval mail on 23rd in mail box. Case still received status online
h) 24th feb - EAD card in hand. 3rd SR assigned on 26th and completed today.
i) case status updated today - from approved to " card mailed "
All in all ,i see lot of EAD under L2 got approval as my friends etc who never raised even one SR with almost same priority date.
philosophical take :- (please ignore if getting bored)
> Dont let it get u down. find time to keep on searching new job, retrain , learn something new . Start new netflix series to keep you from frustration. Infact i even gave interviews just as a practice and used to inform at the last that i dont have valid EAD and waiting for it
> check this site often to share pain. it relieves
LESSONS learnt
> Apply for EAD well in advance , especially during nov,dec given all those holidays
> USCIS is unpredictable . No pattern . At best i feel the best analogy will be : going to watch football match at football stadium. Depending on luck and as early reacher, you are assigned some gate and seat. Big line /queue to reach from parking to security gates , Ombudsman/congresmen etc are those driver of golf carts who assist you to reach gates sooner then walkers . if lucky u are able to catch them , and if permitted, get on golf cart and reach early.
Then there is different gate like category. Some gates are faster , some gates are too damn slow due to load. some queue gets all of a sudden stuck due to some ppl carrying unwanted thing . or the officer takes a break and the queue stops. some time one gate moves faster due to multiple gate checker processing at breakneck speed.
In the end , patience is the key , if you have valid tickets , u get to enter finally and enjoy the show.
at the end ,in short - If you have filed everything diligently , One fine day u will have that damn card in your hand.
so best of luck to all who are waiting still, congrats to the one who got it and they can get on with their life .
