Questions for Emergency AP with pending I-485
Hi everyone-
It seems like my field office is already working on sending interview notices to people with the same PD month as me, bit I haven't received mine yet. It should hopefully come at any second.
The problem is that my brother has fallen terribly ill in my home country and I need to apply for Emergency AP.
I have a few questions. How do I apply for Emergency AP without an Infopass? My local office is fully booked for the next 14 days and I don't know if my brother will make it that far. Is there a number to call so I can get them my application faster?
Also, what documentation do they need? I started filling out the form and I figured I'd send the doctor's documentation along with his and my birth certificate (to prove he is family) and the translations for everything. Is that enough? I know I also need to send copies of IDs and a copy of my pending I-485, but is there anything else needed to prove that it's an emergency that I would have to send?
At this point, would it be advised to even request AP? I don't want to give them reasons to think I've abandoned my I-485 application and I would never have applied for AP if I didn't have a serious emergency.
Please let me know your thoughts.
