Family Based Greencard Experience thus far
To begin, my husband (Jamaican on a B1 Visa) and I (American) were married on July 24, 2017. We decided that we would Concurrently File forms I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative), I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status), I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization), I-864 (Affidavit of Support).

From day one we have documented everything we do (Family outings, birthdays, holidays). We opened a bank account together and started saving for all the fees that come with the forms listed above. I added him to my insurance at work so he’s covered for all of his medical needs. I had him added to my lease so that it shows we do live together and we’ve established bills together. He finally got an appointment with an immigration doctor to get his physical done in October. We received his results but we didn’t quite have the money saved up for the fees yet. So on February 16, 2018 we had the money saved and we sent off the package. On February 20, 2018, USCIS received the package. March 5, 2018 we received the I-797c, Notice of action stating they have received all of the paperwork. On March 10, 2018, we received his appointment for his biometrics which is for March 20, 2018. It hasn’t been quite a month yet since we filed everything so it seems to be going by fast for us. I’m not sure if it’s because we filed everything at once but the process has been so far so good. Hope this information helps someone.
