Finally got my green card approved yesterday!!! I received the "Welcome to the United States of America" letter which says the card should arrive within 3 weeks.
Location: New York
October 2016 - PD date
September 2017 - Interview at Federal Plaza
October 2017 - Approved I-130 received
March 2018 - Approved I-485
While waiting for the result after the interview, I have raised a bunch of SR requests which went unanswered. I also contacted the Congress person, but to no avail. I went to Infopass appt two weeks ago and was told that last action taken on my case was in the beginning of March. I felt relieved that at least my case was not lost or abandoned. Four days later they approved my applicatoin. Waiting for the card now.
Does anybody what the expiration date will be on the green card? Do they start counting two years from the PD date?
Also, is there going to be another interview when I will need to remove conditions on the card?
Thanks guys for your support during the waiting period. I wish everybody luck and remember that it is all about patience. Try to focus on living your life and think/stree less about this tiresome lengthy process.
