My experience
Hey everyone,
Just like others i have been reading this thread for a while and just wanted to share my experience.
I have used USCIS for multiple applications since 2003 and honestly this is my first experience of them being so slow. Other times i would hear back within weeks of sending in applications but now they are definitely backed up. Even after opening additional offices in NYC and transfering casework to other offices they are still backed up.
I also have friends who applied in the last two years who heard back in 6months so i honestly don't know what is causing these long delays. Recently my friend who is married to to someone in the military, filed for green card in August 2017 got her case approved in 6months Feb 2018. I feel as though some people when they share their experiences of quick results might not include some of those factors, so it might look like their cases are getting approved at a much quicker rate.
Anyway my PD is 11/24. EAD is taking up to 5 months now as we all now. From the pattern i am seeing, it looks like USCIS informs on on day 145 they approved your case and by day 150 you should receive your card. I also noticed that they information they give you when you raise SR is invalid. Back in the day they would respond to SR within 15days, but these days you have to give them 30 days before you can call to complain but an unresponded SR. Day 145 when i expect to hear from USCIS is 4/18 and day 150 when i expect to get my card is 4/23.
