Follow up by ombudsman

Filed EAD on 10/19/17
Today will be 181 days of wait
Raised 3 SR only one got response from USCIS, " Case is under review will receive decision shortly". Its been 2 weeks and no update after that.
Contacted Ombudsman and generic response, will contact me once they receive any updates from USCIS.
I called twice and inquired about my case with Ombudsman and USCIS but same response no updates
Yesterday I received an email from Ombudsman that they have followed up again with USCIS regarding my case assistance and will reply once they receive any response.
I did not request Ombudsman to follow up. Just wondering if anyone have same experience and what was the outcome whether it made any difference or not ?
