Adjustment of Status
Hello everyone, I have been reading up on this site for years when I was going through Naturalization for myself, before that, removing my condition off GC.

Fast forward to today, I did an application for AOS for my spouse.

The dates may not be exact, may be off by a day or two (i485, i130, i765, i864)

PD December 20 2016
Got i797 maybe a week and a half later

Biometrics January 27 2017

EAD March 8 2017

Ready to schedule interview notice April 2017

It stayed like that for months, called to check, was told if later on by August etc and haven’t heard anything to call back. Scheduled info pass, was told that they were just backlogged.

(Had a misconception about the EAD, didn’t want to pay twice so was waiting to see if we would get interview before it expired, that didn’t happen but it’s FREE to apply for renewal of EAD for those who are concerned about the fee.) As long as you have a pending i485.

Got i797 in Feb 2018 stating that interview is scheduled for March 2018

Interview was scheduled and EAD was going to expire 2 weeks before interview, filed for renewal of EAD.

About March 6 2018 before it expired, got notice of action that it will be extended automatically for 180 days.

Went to interview sitting and waiting wasn’t nervous, was just talking to my wife normally, I’ve been to that office several times before biometrics, naturalization interview and ceremony etc. we talked and smiled and laughed like we normally do, giving each other jokes like we’d do at home or outings

Officer came and called us, swore us in, etc, explained the process. Officer was going over the completed forms and then started asking questions, nothing out of the norm honestly, asked for documents relating to some questions, when he was finished asked for any proof. Showed leases, photos, joint accounts phone records etc.

Medical was expired and we forgot to redo it lol, so that held us up a but but it was all good, i130 was approved, when medical was approved i485 was also, received GC.

Hope this helps someone as I’ve been helped
