I need to clarify a question
So here’s my question. I heard of a family member who has a kid that receives special needs assistance in school. Just recently she mentioned that she applied for some sort of benefit about 6 months ago, last week she received an EAD in the mail and a letter to take to the SSA to get her social se urity card. What’s been bugging me is the fact that she entered illegally to the country and she has no other way of being here or adjust her status. So my question is, what kind of relief is she getting?
Could it be asylum? Or the green card?
I doubt she’s being granted a cancellation of removal, because I don’t think she’s being through immigration court.
I really don’t know much more about the ins and outs of the case but any comments would be appreciated. Thks
