First H1B Visa stamping Successfully in Vancouver
Hi, I had my first H1B and H4 visa stamping successfully in Vancouver back in March 2018. It went smoothly and very well, and i would like to share the experience with you and hopefully can be of a little help.

Background:

   1) E3 visa for years and switched to H1B for the first time
   2) Finance related job, not fancy STEM
   3) H1B visa was approved for "Consulate processing", with consulate location mentioned on I-797A in "Melbourne AUS"
My attorney said there's a risk of applying for visa stamping in a 3rd party country. But it was too much hassle for me to go back to Melbourne for just visa stamping with the whole family, so i decided to give Vancouver a try. And it turned out to be a "no issue", as no one ever asked any questions about "why don't you go back to Australia for...."

Interview Timeline:

   1) 3/6/2018 Tuesday -- Flight to Vancouver, stayed at Vancouver Downtown hotel
   2) 3/7/2018 Wednesday -- Interview @ 7:40 am

        (a) left the hotel around 7: 15am, walked 15 mins to the consulate building.
        (b) The line in front of the building was short. I believe that Wednesday is usually the light day of the week, while Monday and Friday are often the peak and busiest.
        (c) VO was a nice young man with a sens of humor. The interview went well and finished quickly in minutes.

         Questions:
            (1) What company do you work for?
            (2) What's your role?
            (3) When did you get married?
            (4) To my husband, do you work in the US?

        (d) VO approved our H1b and H4 visas and said we would receive our passports back in 3-5 days.
        (e) We got out of the building around 9am, so it took only 1.5 hrs, very fast and efficient.

   (3) 3/8/2018 Thursday -- Visa status changed to Issued and delivered to the post office

   (4) 3/9/2018 Friday -- we picked up our passports in the morning at the designated post office and flew back to the US

Thank you all and Hope everyone luck!
