NTA after filing for I-485
Hi guys ,
I just got into an unfortunate situation of receiving an NTA (notice to appear) before an immigration judge , with date still to be determined, due to withdrawing my asylum case . This happened even though I have a pending AOS based on marriage and my lawyer had advised me that we should be fine as long as we withdraw the asylum case after we get receipt notices for my I-485 & I-130. I filed both concurrently and my PD for them is May 14th 2018. This nta just came shockingly unexpected because I thought we were on the safe side of having my AOS pending.
With all this being said, I have couple of questions:
1) What are the chances to terminate proceedings if you have a pending AOS?
2) Do they require your I-130 to be approved before they terminate the proceeds?
Please if anybody has been in a similar situation, or you know the steps . I would appreciate the advice.
