I wanted to give back to this forum as I used it a lot while preparing for the interview and was very grateful for all those who had taken time to contribute their experience.

1) You will stand in a line outside the Embassy prior to your appointment time. Security only lets a few people in at once depending on how many people are already inside so it can be a wait. Security will check your DS-160 before letting you in.

2) Inside the Embassy there will be two checks of documents before the actual interview. The documents requested for both checks are the same: DS-160, photo, passport, I-797, proof of valid status in Canada. They will also do an airport style security check but have a small storage area for keys, pens etc.

3) There were two VO's (one male one female) when I went for my interview. The male VO was either issuing 221(g)s or outright denying visas so I got pretty worried but with the grace of God, I got the female VO.

4) Questions asked were as follows:
Whether it is a first time H1-B or renewal
What I am doing in Canada
What my job title is and my base salary
What my employer does

That was it. No additional documents were asked other than the ones already asked before (passport, photo, proof of status in Canada and I-797).

Good luck to all! My advice is to take as many documents as possible supporting your role and responsibilities and have faith in God and yourself.
