H1b visa stamping appointment on 06/12 in Ottawa
Here is my experience:

My interview was at 9:30 AM on Tuesday. Large bags are not allowed inside the building. One guy who showed up with a large bag was told to go back to hotel room and come back with a smaller one. So it is better to pay close attention to the list of items you are not allowed when you are sent the interview reminder email.

a) The guard let me inside a few minutes before 9:30 AM. There is no point getting there well in advance.
b) Right after you enter the building , a lady will check the DS 160, the photograph and your visa status in Canada.
c) You then go through the security check. Any phones etc will be stored in a plastic container and will be returned to you on the way out. In my case, they took away my pen!
d) You then stand in a line for fingerprinting and also for a scan of your photo. In my case, she asked for my previous passport which had a couple of H1B stampings and handed it back to me along with my current passport.
e) The visa officer asked me the following questions:
     - Do you work for company XYZ?
     - How long have you worked for them?
     - What is your highest degree.
     - Did you do any kind of research in the Masters degree.
     - What was the research about?
     - What do you currently do in company XYZ.

He then said the visa was approved. I was back in my hotel room by 10:15 AM. Below is my time line :

June 12th , 9:30 AM Visa Interview
June 14th , Status changed to "Issued" around 11:00 AM.
June 15th : 8:32 AM i got an email saying the passport was ready for pickup.
