EAD, expedition, and finances
Hi everyone,

I've been looking through what people have written a bit and find it super helpful.

Here's my question and rough timeline:

Forms submitted: 4/9/18
Receipt: A few days later
Biometrics: 5/13/18

We're married and I'm the USC. No RFE (yet?). I'm a teacher and we are living in the bay area of California. I'm hoping someone understands that what I mean by that is finances are tight with him not able to work. He has not applied for a job because he does not have a work permit (and he's not really the type to surf for jobs and apply without having authorization.) He is working part-time for his home country (software developer) but the exchange rate is not helping. We are cutting into our savings pretty rapidly at this point.

My question is: do I have cause to file for financial hardship or to try to expedite the process? I'm scared hearing people say it took 200+ days (or will now take 4-6 months) and I just don't have the income to support us. Should I try to encourage him to apply for jobs even without the EAD?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Lindsey
