San Francisco Aug 2017 Filer - Successful Naturalization Interview Experience
My Naturalization(N-400) Interview just over successfully.….
Field Office: San Francisco
Application Submitted: 08/09/17 (NBC YYYY YYYY YYYY )
Interview completed: 07/10/18
Process:
1. At the Gate, Security asks for Appointment Letter and Driver’s License. All your belongings would pass thru Security Machine just like Airport. Having Phone is OK.
2. Go to 2nd Floor and handover your appointment letter to Receptionist
3. Receptionist tells you where to wait for the Officer to come and get you (A thru F isles). Family and kids are allowed to wait in waiting room inside. There are restrooms nearby.
4. An Officer comes and takes you to interview room
5. Oath taking....basically you have to say 'Yes'
6. Asks for Green card, Driver license, and Passport (old and new). The Officer specifically asked me show my old passport. I think the travel that cover all 5 years since you applied for the citizenship
7. The officer asked every detail of the N-400 application like Name, SSN#, Address, Part 12 of Yes/No etc. That lasted for 10 minutes or so. Make sure that you go thru every detail of the Application (old address, since when you lived there, did you pay taxes etc). If there are any changes then let Officer know. For me, my office address was changed and correction was made.
8. You need to sign the application
9. Interview Part…
a. When was the Declaration of Independence?
b. Who was Speaker of the House?
c. How many years do we elect the President?
d. What are the first 10 amendments called as?
e. What is the name of longest river?
f. Who lived in America before Europeans arrived?
10. I was told that I answered all 6 questions correctly hence no further questions will be asked
11. Gave me a paper to read ‘Thanksgiving’. Then asked me to write “ Thanksgiving is in November.”
12. I was told that I passed all Tests and I will be recommended for Approval. I got the Approval letter.
13. Indicated that within next 3 to 6 weeks, I will be having Oath.
Other Notes: My application is not at all complicated (No arrests, No travel more than 6 months, based on 5 Yrs of Employment based Green card).
