6 months since EAD/ AP still no interview date

Bio: November 29, 2017
EAD/ AP: January 18, 2018
It has been 6 months already since I have received the EAD and there is still no news about the interview. The process at the beginning was pretty fast now it just seems to be stuck. Talked to the lawyer and she said that there is nothing they can do but wait. Should I contact the ombudsman myself ? What would be the reason for the interview schedule to be delayed so much, anyone has any ideas ?
