Hi everyone, after a few weeks reading and writing on this forum, I want to post about my experience because it was the guidance of this group that got me through the process. I am very, very thankful for your support and I wish everyone the best in this process!!! Bless you all.
Married to USC
c9 applicant (Forms I-485, 130, 131, 765)
PD 03/22
03/12: Mailed application packet with help of an attorney
03/22: Marked as received by USCIS, received 797C notices shortly after
04/26: Biometrics appointment (received notice of appointment about 2 weeks in advance)
05/01: Status on I-485 changed to "Case ready for interview", all else marked as "Received"
--no updates--
06/15: Received job offer, with a start date 30 days from this date. Put together a cover letter, offer, household income/expenses list (with evidence) for USCIS.
06/19: Talked to USCIS officer on the phone, they said best way to get to them with an expedite request (I-765/131) is mail it physically to address on the Notices.
06/20: Mailed a physical copy of expedite request (I-765/131) to USCIS (NBC)
06/21: Contacted local Congressman and Senator, sent privacy release forms & evidence.
--Congressman aide sent request to USCIS next day. Didn't hear anything in like 10 days, but I called to ask anyway - no updates.
06/23: I-485 changed status to "Fingerprint Review Was Completed", all other cases still say "Received"
07/02: Congressman aide called me on the phone to say my case was routed for expedite processing
07/09: I-765 case changed to "Card is Being Produced" (egov page)
07/10: I-765 and I-131 cases changed to "approved" (yes, it's all backwards)
07/11: I-765 "Card was Mailed to Me"
07/12: USPS Informed Delivery marked that USCIS sent Pre-shipment info
07/13: Card in hand
Total days from case received to card in hand: 113
Important notes:
-In my case, from the moment I was informed that I was routed for expedite processing, I saw all updates happen on the egov site, not on the dhs one. However, I've talked with people on this forum for which the process was the other way around (all updated on dhs but not on egov). For me dhs updated like 5 days after.
-If you haven't, sign up for USPS Informed Delivery, it's free, and you will know when the package (card) is coming.
-USCIS status updates do not happen at a specific time of day, sometimes I was notified of a status change at 6:00AM, sometimes at 3:00PM and sometimes at 10:00AM, so sign up for e-mail notifications (egov site).
-If you got the help of an attorney, ask them where your card will arrive. Some people get them sent to their homes and some to their attorney's office.
Thanks again to everyone who took the time to answer my questions! Let me know if you have any. I'm no expert but will try to answer as best as I can from my experience.
All the best,
JP
