Government Assistance that may affect change of Status(GREEN CARD) eligibility
Can someone advice please. I am married to a US citizen who has filed for Green Card for me. PD 10/26/2018. I have my EAD and waiting for interview.. My field office is Denver,Colorado.
I and my spouse live in Denver Housing Authority apartment which subsidizes rents to tenants mostly according to income earnings of the head of household which in this case is my wife. So,she pays just 50% of the rent normally obtainable in town because I have nt been registered as an employee, having just got my EAD last month.
Can this hamper my GC application? I read Trumps administration wants anyone receiving state or government benefit like food stamp, rent subsidy or anything of such not to get GC. In this case,I am not receiving . My wife stopped receiving food stamps because of me to avoid this but since we still live in Denver Housing Authority, does it matter? Paying half of normal rent, does it jeopardize my application?
Advice please
