Filing I-131 (Application for Travel Document) instead of Advanced Parole
When filing the form I-485 (Adjustment of Status) I filed Application for Travel Document instead of Advanced Parole. I thInk I made a mistake. Will I be able to travel to see my family before getting my Green Card? Do I have to file Advanced Parole if I want to do this? The problem is that in the instructions it says that AP is only for emergencies, and I don't have any - I just want to see my family, haven't seen them in over 2 years. Do people travel only for emergencies before getting the GC? If I can file AP, do I have to pay the fee, since I already filed I-485?
