Los Angeles Interview Experience
A little lengthy, but bear with me.

District: Los Angeles
Married: 06.13.2015
PD: 8.14.17
EAD: 11.09.17
Interview: 08.06.18

I, the beneficiary prepared the documents myself without the help of a lawyer. Adjusted from F-1 visa and currently working on EAD STEM OPT. Still in F-1 status and graduated.

Interview was at 8:30am and we got there like 7:45am. Got in by 8:10am. Got called around 9:15am. It lasted about 30-40 minutes.

The IO was a lady and looked a little too serious. We got into her office and you could see that she has been doing the job for a while.
She asked me to sit down for biometrics verification. After that she swore us in and asked us to take a seat in front of her.

She told us no cross conversation between petitioner and beneficiary as the interview was in session. Any word that comes out of our mouths should be directed to her. We can't talk to each other.

She asked for petitioners proof of US citizenship. Petitioner provided US passport and Naturalization certificate.
She asked petitioner her full name, date of birth, phone number, current address and when we moved into that apartment. She then asked petitioner when we got married.
She then asked me the beneficiary the same questions above. She verified my port of entry into the country and the date that I entered the US.

She said I came in on F-1 visa right? And I said yes. She asked if I attended school or if I was still in school. I said I'd graduated and she asked if I brought a certificate to prove I graduated and I showed her my degree. She took it. She then asked me the i-485 Yes/No questions.

She then asked for all joint documents. I proceeded to dig into the box we brought and she said I shouldn't and that the petitioner should present the documents because i am just benefitting. Since I prepared the documents, I was afraid my wife will mess up. Luckily, I labeled all the documents very carefully and she was able to go through and present it. She started by presenting on at a time. The IO said she doesn't have all day and that she should put all joint documents on her desk and told petitioner not to explain anything and that she will ask questions if she has some.

At this point, it was 10 minutes into the interview. We spent the next 20-30 minutes watching her as she went through the documents and took the ones that she wanted. In my initial application, I included everything we had. I added over a 100 pictures, joint insurance, gym membership, joint car titles, etc. And 2 weeks after I got the interview notice, I noticed an action was taken on my case. I believe she started going through our case then or maybe that was when she got our file. Just a guess. The reason I am guessing is that, she seemed to have labelled my file and knew where each file was. She was muttering whatever she was looking out of her mouth and we could hear her. She really knew what she was doing.

She took only 4 pictures out of the 400 pictures we submitted at the interview. She took 3 copies from our 24 month joint phone bills. She asked for all our join credit cards. The actual cards. She was really happy that we both took our wallets out and took our cards out. She smiled. She photocopied passports, old passports, naturalization certificate, visa page, degree, beneficiary's birth certificate, all credit cards, health insurance, EAD/AP, ALL prior I-20's even though we had copies. She made her own copies.

After that she said she really appreciates that we brought all documents they expected and required.
She was not typing anything all along during the interview and thats why I think she already went through the case. She only replaced old documents with new documents like I-94, pay stubs and employer verification letter.

She started typing for like a minute and then she asked us to verify our names and address on a letter. And I realized it was the 120 days letter. I expected this already from reading on this forum. She thanked us and told us to make sure we have all documents before we leave.

She didn't ask us anything about the usual how we met and relationship stuff.

I woke up the next day and saw an approved/Card ordered for I-485 and approved for I-130 on the myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov account. The egov website is still stuck on scheduled interview.

This forum has been really helpful and I am glad to everybody. I will still be active on here and answer questions. I have gone through CPT, OPT, STEM OPT and now AOS. Ask me any question and if I have experience in it, I'll be glad to answer under this thread. I will post some helpful links later to help others who are still on their journey.

Please, please and please...do not worry about this process as it could cause long term health issues. I told myself I will focus on other things. Sat down for 3 more certifications just to keep myself busy. It was not easy to not worry, but try and don't worry as eventually..you will be approved and you would have wished you didn't worry. Just pray and be patient. Also we are all glad to all the petitioners who are our wives or husbands for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this country.
