Adjustment of Status - I-485

URGENT HELP!!! I-485 PACKAGE RETURNED
I applied for I-765 based on my qualification to apply for OPT, sent it May 24th, received receipt June 1st. After that nothing was received again.
July 18th, sent in I-485 with other documents excluding the medical records, but including another I-765 based on a new category. Just received the entire package back. Reason is incorrect fee. Although I had made sure all amounts were correct, I just went back to read the instructions again and realized the two main acceptable payment method are check and credit cards. For whatever why I saw money order, I don't know!!!
Here is my challenge now, I have some questions that I would appreciate if anyone can help with, or give useful suggestions that would make my application successful.
1. Since my initial application is still there, would it be used? or would sending the I-485 override it?
2. The documents came back all stitched up to different parts, should I use fresh prints, or simply use the ones that were sent back? And should I take them apart and put them the way I initially sent it or simply leave it to the new arrangement?
3. With regards to the medical records, I already have my vaccinations/immunization, only thing left now is a visit to a civil surgeon who would examine me, but we are not able to afford that bill at the moment, do you think I can proceed with the application without this record? And if I do, would it have a negative impact on my application? or should I just wait until we can afford the visit?
4. If everything should be sent back again with the right documents and fee, do you think this might extend my wait time to receive my EAD ?
It would mean so much if anyone would find time to respond. Thank you!
