Hi there,
Im going to be brief because I am so overwhelmed and thanking god every second and every min for this journey . My husband filed for me so this is a marriage based green card/ adjustment of status.
Timeline :
April 28, 2017 - submitted I-485 ,I-130, g-325, I-765, -1-895 (affidavit of support),I-693
June 17, 2017 - Approval of EAD
Sept 2017- EAD card approved
July 22,2018 - Interview notice received and scheduled
Aug 22,2018- interview appointment
My interview went really well , we arrived at 7am for a 7:30am interview and we were called in at 7:35. The interview lasted for 20 mins and went really well. we answered confidently and our officer made the interview very easy !
My officer was very friendly and it was more of a chit chat experience : weather , travelling etc
questions asked :
Me: (the petitioner) :
1. Does your husband owe taxes or will be refunded
I said refunded and then he asked me how much i told him wasn't sure of the amount and he laughed because i looked very puzzled
2. Whats your DOB and where he was born
3. what does your husband do
4. where did your husband work previously to this job
5. whats yours husbands current jobs what does his job entailed
Documents we carried were (originals and photo copies) :
1. drivers license
2. birth certificate
3.passport
4.social security
5.health insurance
6.life insurance policy
7. lease agreement
8. copy of my sponsors nautrilization
9. marriage certificate
10. work permit
11. car insurance
12. wedding album plus individual photos (22 photos)
13. i-94 arrival record
14. all of our uscis notices
15. recent tax returns filed together 2017,2016,2015
all of our original documents signed 1-130, g-325,1-864,1-1765,1-485,1-693,
we seperated all of originals from photo copies and whatever he asked for we gave it to him without hesitation.
I was approved on the spot and my status was updated online 20 mins after leaving the office
