On Aug 6th, the day DMK leader passed away, I did my H1B (10+ years extension) in Chennai. I am a FTE with US manufacturing employer working in IT division.

You visa is approved and collect passport. VO didn't even check my 797.
In Port of entry..He said you are on H1B and gohead. He just joked to my son.
Observation from my experience. Don't go early to consulate or VFS office and get sweat in chennai weather. GO on time, even 10 mins late is fine. Don't get panic.
I noticed low salary guy and tester and quality guys and PMO rejected when I was waiting on the floor.
