Green card received my journey is finally over
Hi I want to share my experience
I finally received my green card for 10 years (I have been married for 4 years now to a USCIS)
Dallas filler married to a USCIS same sex couple
PD: March 14, 2017
Biometrics: April 30,2017
Case ready for interview: May 30, 2017
EAD received: July 10, 2017
Sent EAD renewal: April 30,2018 ( still no response on EAD as today)
Interview cancelled: July 23,2018 ( I never received any interview notice I called USCIS they told me to wait 30 days for the reason )
August 17, 2018 Friday : received the interview notice for August 22,2018 at 9:30am ( 5 days to get the updated medical, TB test, get all the evidence ready)
August 22,2018 5 hours after finished the interview my case was updated to “your new card is being produced”
I received my green card on September 1,2018
Interview experience:
We took 3 folders to the interview (thanks to UScitizenfillingforspouse for the table of contents)
1 folder: all originals from the copies we sent it with the forms, all new evidence after the PD date
(joint lease, joint rental insurance, joint car insurance, 2 joint car title, joint life insurance, joint checking account statements showing salary direct deposits from both of us, joint saving account statements, last 3 years of joint Tax return transcript, 2 joint car loans, 4 joint credit cards statements (made copies on the actual credit card showing our names and card number), both passports, both birth certificates, mine birth certificate translation,
Marriage certificate.
2 Folder: all copies from the new evidence I included 25 pictures with description on the back, facebook memories from us (4 screenshot ), txt messages between us (2 screenshots). She kept that folder She didn’t want it but we insist .
3 folder: with an update I864 form and 6 last paystubs, 2017 joint tax return transcript, 2017 W2, updated employment letter. (the officer didn’t want that folder, she said she had enough evidence already )
Updated medical: the other medical was over a year since we send it, this was the first thing she asked.
1 Photo album: she went thru it very fast
The Officer was a nice Indian lady they never separated us the interview took 20 min she asked I130 form questions to my spouse and how we meet, when, when she propose, where, where we got married, when, who attended, my full name, my date of birth and where I was born .
She asked I485 form questions to me, my spouse full name, date of birth and where she was born and that’s it. She asked if we had any question and
She told us to wait 30 days for a letter from them,5 hours later we got an update that my card was being produced
My advice be prepared and take everything you can my marriage was legit but we need to proof to them.
Good luck for everyone in this process, this forum helped me a lot with this 17 months of waiting.
