Mistakes on I-485 form
My friend made a mistake on I-485 form. He selected "Single" on his personal information. However, he got a short marriage (1 year) and divorced immediately long time ago in his origin. His attorney suggested him to correct the mistake now by sending a letter to IO. But he is worried that in all his previous visa to USA and other countries, he used "single" instead of "divorce" all the way long. Then the IO might think that he was constantly lying on his personal information over the last many years and might deny his I-485 immediately, even he is correcting the mistake now. What shall he do? Thanks very much.
